Elegant Nymphenburg porcelain butter dish with cover, c.1895, from the Louis XVIII service. Translucent porcelain with fluted body, scalloped rim, and hand-painted floral decoration with gilded edges.
Bearing the crowned blue shield mark of Nymphenburg and impressed numerals. The design reflects 19th-century Rococo revival taste, produced in the royal Bavarian manufactory founded in 1747 and housed at Nymphenburg Palace since 1761.
