16th Century Grotesque Helmet
16th Century Grotesque Helmet
Made by one of the master armourers of the 16th century.
This imposing helmet with demonic face with wide eyes, moustache, goatee and pointed teeth. The helmets engraved on the back of the skull a double G and on the other side a double M. The S point to it likely work of gunsmith Suesenhoffer, who made some of the most impressive gothic helmets in the grotesque form.
A true work of art and rarely seen on the international antiques market.
