These swords are extremely desirable especially when in a fine state of preservation, this particular sword has been well kept.
The sword is impressive to say the least and a holy grail for many collectors.
The hilt is a simple yet detailed design, a set of curved quillons with spirals on the end and large side ring , the finger guard no longer accessible due the addition of the plate (period correct) in the side ring. This seems to point to the sword being modified either at the request of the owner or perhaps to give the sword a longer life as it could have easily been used on through to the 17th century. The grip is original and well kept and the pommel is quite unusual.
The sword blade and pommel are perfectly fitted with no looseness or wobble present.
The blade width is 4 cm blade width and is super robust and show extensive signs of use on the edge as well delaminations close to the edge you can see a pattern this could indicate some form of pattern wielded steel may have been used.
