KÉPI OF A STAFF COMMANDER OF AN INFANTRY REGIMENT, model 1886, Third Republic. 30587Cap and turban in fine madder cloth, headband in fine black cloth, rank soutaches in gold trimmings of the model after 1883. Directly embroidered on the front of the headband, in cannetille and gold sequins, flaming bomb specific to non-patented staff officers of the war school. Small buttons in gilded brass, stamped with the flaming bomb symbol of the weapon, holding the false chinstrap in so-called golden ribbed lines and the ceremonial chinstrap in blackened leather with double slide. Top of the cap decorated with a triple-strand Hungarian knot in gold soutache. Visor in black patent leather, lined with green morocco, rush in blackened lacquered calfskin sewn on horseback. Interior of cap in brown satin. Blackened leather sweatband. France. Third Republic. Good condition; internal headband and rank braids, partly unstitched.
