Rare snuff box or fly box with cage mount (the rarest) in silver and mother of pearl, very sculpted with a very strong relief on the lid.
It is rectangular in shape, the lid has a very beautiful engraved decoration of a couple of musicians under a tree.
The characters in a bucolic setting are sculpted in very strong relief in the manner of a cameo.
The mother of pearl panel used for this lid was therefore very thick, while remaining translucent to the light.
The interior has retained an old collection label, moreover this box comes from the collection of a former antique dealer. Look carefully at the fine carving of the lid, even the eyes of the characters are finely executed.
Each side including the underside are engraved with floral ornaments, with great care, a guarantee of quality.
