"Antique Limoges Small Coffee Set, Ahrenfeldt & Asalvary, France, C.1895"
A rare small Limoges coffee set, produced in France by
Charles Ahrenfeldt and decorated by J. Asalvary, c.1895. This set includes a
coffee pot, covered sugar bowl, and creamer. High-quality
Limoges porcelain, with vertical ribbed bodies, richly gilded acanthus leaf
decoration, and finely sculpted handles, lids, and bases. Each piece bears the
green underglaze Ahrenfeldt oak-leaf factory mark (c.1895) and the red oval
decorator’s stamp of J. Asalvary, Limoges. A
rare find, seldom seen as a complete set and in such fine condition. The
combination of superior gilding, detailed casting, and the presence of both
marks enhances its collector value. This set is an excellent choice for
collectors of French porcelain or as a refined decorative accent.
