"Academic Nude, French School, Charcoal On Paper, 19th Century."
Beautiful academic nude, charcoal on paper, French school, first half of the 19th century. The academic nude represents a man in three-quarter view, his right arm raised, his head turned to the right. A subtle play of chiaroscuro is to be noted in our drawing, highlighting the model's musculature. We date the charcoal around 1840-1850, first half of the 19th century, to be compared to the school of Ingres. A very beautiful carved and gilded wooden frame completes the decoration. Good condition (missing). Private collection. Dimensions: Frame: h.83.5 cm x l.72.5 cm Charcoal: h.47 cm x l.24 cm.
