circa 1775, 18th century, French school.
Private collection; has always belonged to the same family through inheritance.

Finely carved gilded wood frame with its original glass.
We present a pastel of a lady of high standing in the pure tradition of 18th-century portraits,
intimate, gazing at the viewer, reminiscent of those of Queen Marie Antoinette painted
by the famous portraitist Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun (1755–1842).
