Beautiful Horsewoman on her horse in terracotta with slip and polychromy from the Tang Dynasty. She is wearing a bonnet, dressed in a long-sleeved tunic, and baggy trousers. Her hands are clasped on her chest. The horse is standing on a terrace with its head tilted to the left. Beautiful preservation of the polychromy on the horse and the rider's face. Private collection. Origin: China Dimensions: h.29.5 cm x w.25.5 cm x d.11 cm. Condition: very good condition. History: Tang Dynasty funerary figurines are terracotta figures of people and animals made during the Tang Dynasty (618-906) as funerary furniture to be placed in tombs. It was believed that the things depicted would become available for the deceased's service in the afterlife.
