Portrait of a young boy in a brown coat on a black background, painted in pastel, France or England, late 18th century, very early 19th century. Interesting work of light on the child's face and beautiful quality of execution. Later frame in Louis XVI style, early 20th century, in carved wood gilded with leaf, label of the Parisian framer Romain Barillier on the back. Good general condition, pastel only on view, 34x28cm with the frame, 45x40cm. Any questions welcome.
