Artist: Alexandre François Bonnardel (1867-1942)
Oil on panel, signed lower left, 1918, by Alexandre François Bonnardel, a Lyon painter and professor at the Lyon School of Fine Arts. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Lyonnais, receiving medals and an honorable mention in 1909. Mountain landscape, or rather portrait of the sky. Old label on the back and inscription in pencil "Vent du Midi" (Southern Wind) covering an earlier inscription. Contemporary wooden frame, partially regilded. Panel only: 22 x 16 cm. Frame: 36.5 x 31 cm. All questions welcome.
