A solid silver and cut crystal bonbonnière. French work from the Restoration period, circa 1830. Hallmarks: Raphael's head and large and medium guarantees, Ceres' head and mask for Paris, 1819-1838. Silversmith: Charles Louis Dupré, active from 1827. A well-documented model in Dupré's oeuvre, perfectly in the Charles X style. Pedestal on a square base resting on four small lion's paw feet, handles in the form of foliate scrolls, and a lid finial in the form of a double cornucopia. Monogram engraved on the lid: PS in Gothic script. Cut crystal from Le Creusot or Montcenis with pointed egg-and-dart decoration. Very good overall condition.
