"Prob. Le Goix : Rare 18th Century Taste Vin In Solid Silver Ducks Handle Reims 1743"
Extremely rare Reims Wine Taster in solid silver from the Louis X period. Model with ribs highlighted with dots and equipped with this very rare and elegant atypical grip with confronting Ducks characteristic of the Region (in comparison with the more classic snake handles). Engraved on the back "PV". Charge (Holy Spirit / Crowned Bird) and Discharge (Crowned Lion) hallmarks for REIMS 1732-44, Common House Hallmark for REIMS 1743 (Crowned Q) and Hallmark attributed to Master Goldsmith LE GOIX (incomplete, we can see the G). Extremely interesting desk, particularly in terms of Wine Tasting Cabinet given these atypical grips and the container it was used for tasting (Champagne wines). Reims Wine Tasting Cabinet in the rare model with "Duck" grips, well hallmarked, in good condition with micro-scratches from use. For the discerning collector...
