Devraignes: Round Solid Silver Dish, 18th Century, Normandy, Falaise 1768-74
Rare Louis XV period Norman silver platter with a bordered pattern. It bears the charge and discharge hallmarks, the Falaise hallmark (F "Roman") from 1768-74, and the hallmark of the silversmith Jean Jacques Devraignes (JJD under a crowned tower), registered in 1769. This Norman platter is in very good condition and remarkably hallmarked with the rare Falaise hallmark, displaying a beautiful patina and minor scratches from use. For the discerning collector...
