Lovely oval dish in solid silver with the hallmark of the city of Antwerp for the year 1772. Polylobed in shape, it is rather heavy for its size. It also bears the master goldsmith mark of the most famous Antwerp master of the period: Jean-Baptiste Verberckt (1735-1819) He was the son and grandson of goldsmiths and also did an internship with his uncle Jacques, sculptor and ornamentalist of the King Louis XV. He collaborated in the King's bedroom at Versailles, as well as in that of the Queen.The dish weighs grams.
