Hannier: Large Round Solid Silver Platter, 18th Century, Paris 1746, Coat Of Arms
Rare large round solid silver platter from the Louis XV period, with a lined rim. The rim is engraved with a prominent period coat of arms surmounted by a count's coronet. Hallmarks include the charge mark (crowned A) and discharge mark (greyhound) for Paris 1744-50, the guild mark for Paris 1746 (crowned F), and the mark of the master silversmith Guillaume Hannier (hallmark with the initials "GH" and a heart), registered in 1723. This extremely rare large round armorial platter from the Louis XV period is in very good condition and remarkably hallmarked, with only minor scratches from use.
