"French School, Late 18th Century By Jh. Fragonard (1732-1806) Nymph, Satyr, Mythology, Old Frame"
Very beautiful French mythological school from the end of the 18th century after Jean-Honoré FRAGONARD (1732 - 1806) representing a nymph abducted by a satyr, accompanied by a young man. It takes up one of the four plates of the Bachanalia series of 1763, a very fashionable and sought-after theme at that time. It is done in pen and ink. The plant decoration is magnified and the treatment of the characters is very beautifully executed. Superbly framed with its red mat and its old frame with period gadroons. With beautiful gilding, the whole is very decorative! Dimensions of the frame: 34 x 41.5 cm.
