"French School, Early 19th Century, By H. Robert (1733-1808), Pair Of Animated Architectural Landscapes, Gouache"
Very beautiful pair of signed gouaches (and for one of them located in Rome), representing characters in spectacular animated ruins. The signature is to be deciphered. It is a French school of the first third of the 19th century inspired by the compositions of the French painter Hubert ROBERT (1733-1808) or the older Italian baroque painter Giovanni Paolo PANINI (1691-1765), with the traditional elements that they like to represent such as vaults, ruins, temples, Medici vase... . The colors are very fresh, the perspectives successful and the whole is very decorative. The gilded frames and the more modern passe-partout highlight them magnificently. Dimensions of each frame: 40 x 32 cm.
