Lovely gouache from the 18th century depicting an architectural whim and washerwomen at the fountain after the work of Charles Louis Clérisseau (1722-1820).
Under a ruined architectural coffered vault, two washerwomen at the fountain while two men look at them.
The background is decorated with ruins.
Good house condition, some old damp stains.
No signature, we have unframed the sheet. It is glued to the cardboard, so it is impossible to see the back which could have given us information.
We are selling this beautiful gouache with the attribution to the Clérisseau school.
Late 18th century period.
Framed in pichpin rod and blackened fillets from the 19th century.
