A charming pair of anthropomorphic pitchers known as “Jacquot and Jacqueline”, crafted from polychrome porcelain and accented with gilding.

The two figures are depicted seated, in poses full of character and humor. Jacquot, wearing a wide tricorn hat that forms a spout, holds a glass in his hand and sits next to a barrel. His companion, Jacqueline, is dressed in a floral blouse, a turquoise-blue apron, and a full purple skirt; she also holds a glass and strikes a particularly expressive pose.

The characters’ hats serve as the spouts of the pitchers, while the handles—discreetly integrated into the back—ingeniously complete the design.

Beautiful polychrome decoration in bold shades of green, pink, turquoise, purple, and yellow, accented by gold trim on the headdresses. The painted decoration, particularly Jacqueline’s floral pattern, lends a fresh touch to the ensemble.

This pair belongs to the tradition of Jacquot pitchers, popular figures that first appeared in the late 18th century and were produced throughout the 19th century by various French manufacturers. Based on their material, decoration, and craftsmanship, these pieces can be dated to the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900.
