A superb pair of gouaches by Paul PASCAL (1832/39–1905) depicting lively landscapes, presumably in Italy. The atmospheric perspective in each piece is very well executed. This pair of very luminous gouaches is signed and dated 1874. Paul PASCAL, known primarily for his Orientalist subjects, has chosen here a different destination—one he depicted less frequently: Italy—which is what makes these works so original. It features a beautiful mat in warm tones and a more recent frame, which showcases it particularly well. The ensemble is very decorative! Dimensions of each frame: 44  x 37 cm.
