A highly rare and complete Southern Song Dynasty stoneware ewer, c. 12th century, China. Features dramatic horse-head handles, a crisply modeled dragon in relief, and a perfectly matched original lid with foo dog finial — almost never found together.
Dimensions: Height 22 cm, Diameter 19.7 cm, Weight 1822 g.
Condition: outstanding for its age — only a minor firing crack to the neck (manufacturing flaw), no restoration, minimal natural wear, lid perfectly preserved.
Such complete, lidded Song ewers are extremely scarce on the market and are generally found only in major museum collections or specialist literature.
