Pair Of 9-carat Gold Oval Chain-link Cufflinks By Steele & Dolphin
Beautiful pair of classic double-sided chain-link-connected men's cufflinks in hallmarked 9-carat gold, made in Birmingham in 1984 by silversmiths Steele & Dolphin, in the timeless Edwardian taste of the early XXᵉ century.
Each button is composed of two oval plates linked by a short gourmette link chain, one side decorated with a fine barley grain pattern guilloché flanked and divided by polished pinstripe bands, the opposite side left smooth, ready to receive a monogram or initials engraving, all within an oval relief frame.
The reverses bear full British 9-carat gold (.375) hallmarks: master hallmark "S&D" for Steele & Dolphin, title hallmark "375", anchor of the Birmingham Guarantee House and letter-date "K" for 1984. The pair is presented in its original fitted navy blue leatherette case with frieze gilt trim and royal blue velvet interior, closed with a gilt metal clasp.
Very good used condition, the gold retaining its warm color with light surface marks consistent with wear, clean guilloché and solid links; the case shows minor age-related external wear but remains solid and presentable.
A crisp, traditional pair of British 9-carat gold cufflinks with a timeless design, ideal for everyday wear or as a personalized gift after engraving.
