Spanish Colonies 1730-1770, Solid Silver, Central America, Guatemala, Dinner Dish
Artist: Pas De Poinçon De Maître Orfèvre
Lovely and extremely rare solid silver circular dish with the hallmarks of the Captaincy of Guatemala, part of the Viceroyalty of New Spain. This administrative entity of the Spanish colonies extended over a territory much larger than present-day Guatemala. The hallmarks feature two volcanoes with a bull flying over them in one and a crown in the other. These hallmarks are quite rare and sought after by collectors in Central America. The object weighs 455 grams
