Ivory Coast, Pair Of Antique Senufo Statuettes, Couple Of Wooden Figures, African Tribal Art

Pair of beautiful old statuettes depicting a couple of standing figures with their hands resting on their abdomen in front of the navel, the neck decorated with an amulet for the male figure, and the head topped with a complex headdress with several drooping shells, the same for the female figure.
We will also note the beautiful vertebral groove dug on the back. This type of sculpture is part of a narrow corpus, characteristic of a workshop in the Ivory Coast.
From this latter workshop we could cite the statuette formerly in the Marsha and Saul Stanoff collection (Sotheby's sale of May 217, 2007 n° 9) and that of the Béatrice Riese collection (See article in Arts d'Afrique Noire n° 47). Heights: 25.5 cm / 27.3 cm
