Very rare ceramic statuette with a thick crackled glaze in creamy white or ivory color.
The object represents a boy or a boy sitting on the back of a water buffalo, this type of statuette made in China was often imported by merchant ships to South Korea, cargoes of similar statuettes were found off Sinan (Shinan), Jeolla Province in the Nodaji Sea, a wreck was found in this geographical area, but often looted by vandals. The administration of cultural heritage, with the support of the Navy, nevertheless managed to recover a large number of these objects, confirming that the hull of the ship was buried under the sand of the seabed. These objects are now classified as being of national interest.
