Magnificent small sculpture in silver or silver-plated metal depicting a harnessed donkey loaded with four baskets which for this object certainly serves as a picnic holder for appetizers.

Founded in 1840 by Leoncio Meneses, the Plata Meneses house quickly positioned itself among the best Spanish silverware manufacturers and obtained the title of Supplier to the Royal House Company in 1875. At the end of the 19th century, it exported its pieces to America and the Philippines, obtaining an international prestige which was consolidated in 1910 with the diploma of honor from the Universal Exhibition in Brussels.
