A Lille faience earthenware armorial plate, Louis XIV, late 17th or early 18th century, with a coat of arms attributed to Bargier du Metz, decorated in blue on creamy grey tin-glazed ground. Marked with an “M” or “W” in blue verso. 24cm (9.5in) diameter.
Condition: Very good for age and type. One very small chip to rim (see image). Minor glaze losses to rim. Accretions and glaze misses from the firing process. No restoration found under ultraviolet light.
