Monkey Fight - Art Deco Bronze 1930. "812
Three chimpanzees fighting over a fruit. Anonymous bronze with brown patina circa 1930. Some wear, encrusted dust. The artist offers an incredible composition, tangle of bodies and hand games. Beyond the humorous aspect, we notice that one monkey has one eye hidden, another the mouth, the other an ear. There is a reference to the three wise monkeys, Chinese concept: See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. To those who follow this maxim, only good would come. It appears from the 5th century BC in a text by Confucius. Weight 2.9 kg.
