"Carved Wooden Ornamental Palm "
A curious palm-shaped ornament made of wood carved with foliage and flowers, on a base simulating a pedestal vase. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact provenance of this object: its general, almost oriental appearance gives it the air of distant origin. Made at the beginning of the 19th century, perhaps to decorate an altar, it is polychrome, and the foliage is gilded. A repair is visible on the back.
