Beautiful icon of the Resurrection of Christ (Easter) dating from the end of the 18th century or the beginning of the 19th century -- around 1780/182à -- and coming from the Volga region in Russia.
In this delicate painting, a multitude of figures and scenes are represented with great attention to details.
In the center of the composition, Jesus descends to Limbo and guides Adam and Eve, accompanied by saints, to paradise.
In the lower right corner, the resurrected Christ rises above his tomb.
This icon is painted in tempera in a rich and varied chromatic palette on a wooden panel.
Good overall condition. Some small losses, cracks and wear consistent with the age of this artwork.
