Lucien Gautier (1875 - 1925) born in Aix-en-Provence, is a French engraver, first a student of Gibert and Marius Reynaud , then of Léon Gaucherel in Paris where he settled. He joined the police at the end of the 19th century where he organized a photographic service. At the same time, he participated in the magazine l'Art, exhibited at the Salon des ArtistesFrançais. He produced panoramas during his travels, Paris and Provence were his favorite places for his inspiration. Here we present a beautiful view of the old port of Marseille, showing from left to right, the Samaritaine building, the fishermen's church, and the entrance to the Canebiere. It is published by Liotard for l'Art.
