Handmade wool Turkmen Bukhara rug – Mid-20th century – Wool pile on cotton foundation. Shows wear on one border; fringes have been cut; very dusty and requires cleaning.
Remains highly decorative for a vintage or bohemian setting. Bukhara rug knotting and design: Antique Bukhara rugs are typically red and feature fine geometric patterns. The "Tekke Bukhara" rug is well-known and was woven by a Turkmen tribe; it is adorned with multiple rows of small medallions known as *Güls*.
