Very fine hand-knotted Iranian Senneh Kilim rug dating from the 20th century. Senneh rugs are hand-knotted in the Kurdistan province of western Iran, in the vicinity of the town of Sanandaj, formerly known as Senneh. They feature a large central rhombus design with a wealth of polychromy. They are characterized by classical ornamentation, arranged in straight, geometric patterns. Thanks to their cultural and traditional origins, these rugs have a unique character that embodies ancient Persia. white silk bangs on two sides. No defects apart from a very slight patina from use.
