Elegant set of four Directoire-style chairs crafted in solid walnut, originating from the Veneto region and dating to the early 19th century.
The chairs feature a curved backrest with finely carved foliate motifs on the sides, reflecting the late 18th-century Neoclassical taste. Both the seat and backrest are upholstered in a vertically striped floral fabric, likely added later. The front and rear legs are pronounced and gracefully shaped in the classic “sabre” style, giving the piece a refined and flowing silhouette.
The structure is made of solid walnut, with a beautiful original patina. All four chairs require conservation restoration, particularly concerning structural stability and upholstery.
