Pair Of Directoire/consulate-era Chairs

An interesting pair of Directoire/Consulate-era chairs in walnut

The backrest is rectangular in shape and openwork with scroll motifs.
The seat rests on tapered front legs,
with ring-shaped finials, and saber-shaped rear legs.
The apron is sound and without reinforcements; the joinery is tight.
Restorations; minor imperfections.

The seats are upholstered in a lovely yellow velvet fabric with a studded finish.
Traditional-style upholstery, reupholstered in the traditional manner using horsehair.
