Mid-19th century Caucasus
Superb rectangular bag or cradle in kilim and sumak work (mixed technique) - these bags were often used as beds for babies and were then reused to store and transport clothes, food, etc.
Very nice natural and vegetal colors, very bright.
Dimensions
approx 112cm long * 60cm wide * 43cm high
Very good condition, due to a very tight wool-on-wool weave and thick, high-quality wool
These rugs were solid and of high quality, made for daily and repeated use.
The 2 short sides were sometimes removed to unfold them and use them as a floor rug. These are complete in their original configuration, and have been cleaned.
Very decorative and colorful, they can match all types of interior, to store all types of books, clothes, ... (A simple wooden frame will give it its shape)
I purchased recently several of them from the same source (seven !) in different colors (condition and colors can also vary depending on the rugs considered). Possible sending of photo files on simple request
