Empire-style Console With Mirror, Veneto, Early 19th Century
Elegant Venetian console from the early 19th century, veneered in walnut. It features a large drawer and a structure supported by two turned columns at the front and two square columns at the back, all fluted up to mid-height. The mirror, also walnut-veneered, is enhanced by a carved and gilded frame surrounding the original mercury mirror. The furniture is in good condition, but a conservative restoration is recommended to preserve its charm.
