Antique Reproduction Of Russian Cuirassier Pallasch, Beautiful Patina

This is a beautiful old reproduction of the Russian cuirassier's "pallasch" saber from the time of Catherine II. Unlike more recent productions, the weapon shows a very beautiful patina, both on the blade and on the mount. The overall appearance is therefore quite pleasant, at a very affordable price.
 BLADE: this is the straight 2-edged blade of cuirassiers and dragoons. It has a central groove over most of its length. On the external face, we find the monogram of Catherine II: "EA" for "Ekaterina Alexeivna" (Catherine, daughter of Alexis) and the date of 1763 which is the beginning of the reign of the empress.
Blade length = 87.6 cm, width at the ricasso = 3.2 cm, thickness at the ricasso 7.6 mm
GUARD: Massive brass basket guard, with the monogram of Catherine II, thumb ring, main branch fixed to the pommel by a screw, and two secondary branches meeting at the monogram. Small flattened straight quillon.
POMMEL: in the shape of a raptor's head
GRIP :  in wood covered with leather surrounded by a large twisted brass filigree.
SCABBARD: In thick sewn leather, with brass parts : scabbard entry, intermediate piece and  chape.
