Large Paperolles Reliquary – 18th Century
Beautiful dimensions for this old reliquary and in good general condition in its gilded wooden frame of 53 cm by 43 wide. On a background of moiré silk, in a set of pastel colors of great softness, the dove of the Holy Spirit in a medallion in Glory is surrounded by four relics of Saints Eugenie, Eusebius, Palladia and Olympus that are rarely found. It is also topped by two relics including that of Saint Amarin On either side of the composition, are two flowered altar vases in rolled papers enhanced with colored silk threads.
They accommodate about twenty ex-ossibus relics including Saint Aphrodite, Leonille, Alexander, Patrick, Herculan and Anthonin. Good condition - some lacks and gaps in the frame
