This magnificent example measures 176 cm wide by 242 cm long.
## Type of carpet found in the museums of: Dar Jamaï in Meknes, Batha in Fez, Dar Si Saïd (national museum of weaving and carpet) in Marrakech but also that of the Oudayas in Rabat.
Profusion of patterns, very numerous colors and wool on wool contribute to the beauty of an old traditional Moroccan carpet of an extraordinary quality of execution.
The marvelous natural colors, Eugène Fromentin wrote in 1853 in his book, "A Summer in the Sahara": "Imagine an assortment of all kinds of precious fabrics, an assembly of all colors (...); then cushions half cherry and half emerald, high wool carpets of more serious colors, crimson, purple and garnet, all this married with this natural fantasy of the orientals, the only colorists in the world."
