Object description :

"Vase With Stars And Arabesques, Ht 46 Cm, Brass And Copper, Morocco, 19th Century, Collection"
Exceptional quality and great beauty characterize this vase originating from Morocco.
A two-tone piece, crafted from brass and red copper, it stands 46 cm tall.
Dating from the 19th century, this vase features a delicate decoration of foliage and arabesques across its entire body, as well as twenty brass embellishments secured with red copper nails.
Beautiful friezes of scrolling foliage run around the vase.
Moons are incorporated into the foliage design.
Three brass bands embellish the piece: one at the neck, another at the top quarter, and the last at the base, encircling the bottom of the vase.
The object is in very good condition and of high quality. Four stars are inscribed at the base.
The five-pointed star is a powerful symbol in Islam, representing the five pillars of the faith.
It can be found on flags of North Africa, such as the Moroccan and Algerian flags.
refers to the Seal of Solomon.
The star is a symbol with multiple meanings.
To begin with, it symbolizes the mysteries of the universe and represents the sky and the night.
It fights against darkness and illuminates the night, thus symbolizing truth and the link between God and humankind.
The quality and finesse of the chasing are extremely rare for a piece from the Maghreb.
An ancient creation, very skillfully turned and decorated, which is not very common in Morocco.
