Saint Stephane, Italian Central School, Late 17th Century.
Oil on canvas from the end of the 17th century and of beautiful quality, it has recently been relined so it is in excellent condition. The painting depicts Saint Stephen, recognizable by his attributes, the palmette and the bloody stone, both symbols of his martyrdom; He is depicted young, beardless and wearing the deacon's dalmatic.
The painting can be traced back to an Umbrian school active in the last quarter of the seventeenth century.
The recently restored painting is in excellent condition.
