Beautiful painting depicting a landscape at sunset, in the foreground at the end, a Roman fountain opens the scene from the left, from which a small stream flows at the base.
The gaze continues and opens onto an almost lake-like landscape in which rock crests and naturalistic elements of the river basin are treated by the painter with a certain romantic verve, therefore a nod that he was an artist updated to the more polished and refined fashions of painters that characterized the second half of the seventeenth century. In the distance between various small settlements, a circular Roman temple reminiscent of the temple of Tivoli. Among the pleasant colors of the sky at dusk stand out snow-capped peaks hidden by the wooded foliage, which for landscape characterization and for the chromaticism used in the natural elements recalls, in fact, the pictorial style of the master Perugino Pietro Montanini (Perugia 1626 - 1689) . who in Rome was a pupil of Pietro Da Cortona and underwent pictorial influences from Salvador Rosa.
