Great Kurdish Khandjar
It is a khandjar, Kurdish of very large dimensions whose silver scabbard is particularly well worked.
BLADE It is curved, 2-edged, with a strong central ridge.
Blade length 29 cm, width near the handle 4 cm thickness at the edge about 4 mm
HILT: It is made of dark horn, probably buffalo horn, in one piece.
Note a slight minimal chip on one end of the handle, visible in the photos.
SCABBARD : very fine silver leaf work with filigree, metallic pearls etc...
The differences in color (yellow spots) are only due to reflections at the level of the oxidized parts of the silver.
In conclusion: it is a beautiful piece, of unusual size, and of interesting quality.
