Louis XVI Style Oval Frame
the black and gold Louis XVI frames were called "mourning for the queen" in memory of the late Marie-Antoinette "and the loss for the aristocrats of their representative. The Empress Eugenie will dedicate an admiration to the latter which will make her to revive the memory of it in the Imperial Palaces through the use of this style in the furniture and all the decorative arts.This small frame seems to have not escaped the rule.
