Large Gilded Louis XVI Style Frame Said "with Channels" Circa 1870
This large and beautiful gilded Louis XVI style frame, Napoleon III period, was certainly intended by its format (50 F) for a portrait. But artists did not freeze these codifications, and it often happened that dedicated formats in preference to portraits could also be chosen for landscapes. Piastre cracks, burnished grooves, acanthus leaves in the corners, frieze of bases, row of pearls and leaves of water at sight make up the decorative vocabulary of the ornaments which enrich this magnificent example of a "living room setting". The GALLERY OF FRAMES guarantees a perfect restoration for the indicated price. Do not hesitate to ask us for this type of Louis XVI style frame for which we offer almost all dimensions.
