This splendid frame from the First Empire period is almost in line with the dimensions of a 20 figure (73cm x 60 cm) and should have been perfectly suitable for a portrait. This beautiful model still has the quality of manufacture of frames from the Louis XVI period and the projection which ends the base of the belt underlines a robustness which contrasts with the delicacy of a decoration composed of a frieze of palmettes and alternate oak leaves (symbol of strength in the ornamental vocabulary). double throat welcomes in its second part a garland of grape leaves and grape clusters, ending with a pattern of water leaves at sight. This linden frame is mounted with keys.
