This large Montparnasse frame dates from the 1950s. It belongs to the family of so-called "louis quinzé" frames in merchant jargon (name given to late Louis fifteen style frames). These models have moved away from the original purity of the Louis XV style in order to purify it in order to simplify the sculpture work. Its light gray patina is characteristic of the frames of this period more in keeping with the "modern" style. For a painting ... or mounted in a mirror, this large format should surely appeal to lovers of vintage, or modernity.
