Gabriel Dauchot is a French painter born in 1927, died in 2005. He was a pupil of Othon Friesz and Yves Brayer in the workshops of the big cottage, where he worked from the age of fourteen. He took part in the Under Thirty and Autumn Salons in 1942. From 1945, he made regular personal exhibitions in Paris, Switzerland and the United States. He won the first prize of Art Lovers in 1952. Gabriel Dauchot paints, in the dough, funambulean characters, valets de chambre, newlyweds, melancholic landscapes, ironically grotesque burials, outdated or even carnal still lifes.
